Shashi Sharma Clinic

Our spot is in the Main Market of Karwar, which is in the Nainava Tehsil of Bundi district. Since we are right in the market, there is always something going on outside our door. Shashi Sharma Clinic is a small place where people from the surrounding villages come when they are sick. Sounds of the vendors and the tractors passing by can be heard all day long. The setup here is pretty basic. We have a desk, some chairs for people to wait, and a small area for doing the checkups. Computers aren't used here; we mostly just use paper notebooks to keep track of who comes in. It’s a very local way of doing things. Farmers or shopkeepers from the market make up many of the people who visit us. Seasonal illnesses and general aches and pains are common things we see. The building is old and the roof is a bit low, but it stays relatively cool inside even when it’s hot out in the market. Opening early is a must because the market starts early, and we usually close up when the shops around us start shutting down. Life here in Karwar is simple. Providing a place for people to get some help without traveling to the bigger cities is what we do. Most of the time, we know our patients by name, which makes the long days in the market feel a lot shorter. We just take care of the folks who walk in.
