Kritagya Khadi Gramodyog

Kritagya Khadi Gramodyog is out in P. O. Serhada, which is a lot quieter than the big cities. We deal with khadi and other village industry products, so our pace of life is a bit slower and more traditional. The building we are in is quite old and has that earthy smell of hand-spun cloth and natural fibers. We don't have many visitors from outside the local area, so it’s usually just the same familiar faces popping in to check on things. Most of the work is done by hand, and you can see the slight imperfections in the weave that tell you a person actually made it. We keep our ledgers in physical books rather than on a computer because that’s how we have always done it. The sun shines through the large open windows in the afternoon, lighting up the stacks of fabric. Sometimes the birds fly in and sit on the rafters for a bit before heading back out to the fields. It is a very peaceful way to work, away from the rush of modern offices. We take pride in the fact that we are keeping these old methods going in our small corner of the world. There is no corporate ladder here, just people working with their hands to create something useful. We just open the doors in the morning, do our work, and close up when the light fades.
