We set up Ramwadgaon Farmer Producer Company Limited over at Jagannath Chopane’s place in Yusuf Wadagaon. It is in the Kaij area. The office is really just where Jagannath lives and works. You have to travel a bit to get here, and the scenery is mostly fields and old trees. There is a lot of dust on the windows from the wind blowing across the plains. We don't have any corporate polish or slick brochures. If you come by, you’ll probably be offered a cup of water or tea and we will sit on the floor or on some plastic chairs. We talk about the crops in Yusuf Wadagaon and how the market is looking for the upcoming harvest. It is a slow process sometimes, dealing with all the government forms and the bank stuff. We are not professional writers or businessmen; we are just people from the village. The company is a way for us to stay connected and handle our farming business together. Sometimes the phone signal is bad, so we have to go outside to make calls. It is a bit of a struggle, but we manage. The house is old but it stays cool in the summer.
