Gaurav Mills

Our mill is located in Haweli Kharagpur, right here in the Munger district. We are very easy to spot because we are situated near the Punjab National Bank, which is a big landmark for everyone in town. The business has been part of this community for quite some time, and we see the same faces every harvest season. The building itself is an old one, with thick walls that stay a bit cooler than the outside air, though the machines still make it warm. We spend most of our time dealing with the grain that comes in from the local farms around the Tehsil. There is always a lot of noise when the rollers are going, and you have to shout a bit to be heard over the hum. We keep a small notebook for all our accounts, and things are done mostly by hand rather than with fancy computers. It’s a bit of a walk from the main market area, but people don't mind coming out this way. We have a small crew of workers who have been with us for years, and we all know the routine by heart now. During the rainy season, things slow down a bit and we spend our time doing maintenance on the equipment. It’s a steady life here in Munger, and we are just happy to keep the mill running day after day for the local folks.
