We’re out in Nandure, which is pretty close to Amboli Hill Station if you’re driving through Chandgad. It’s a quiet area mostly. Dealing with cashews is what we do here. The air is a bit cooler because of the hills, especially during the monsoon season when everything turns green. Our place isn't hard to find if you know the road towards the hill station. We spend a lot of time sorting through the nuts and making sure they’re okay. It’s a lot of manual work, really. Padkilkar Chashew has been part of this area for some time. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s more of a local setup. Sometimes the trucks take a while to get through the winding roads around here. We just wait for them and get to work when they arrive. Life moves a bit slower in this part of the country compared to the cities. You might see us sitting outside the shop during a break. It gets dusty when the wind picks up. We don’t spend money on big signs. Most people around Chandgad just know us by name. It’s a family-run kind of thing, I suppose you could say. We just try to get the cashews out to people who need them. Nothing fancy about it. Just honest work in the village. It can be a struggle to keep everything dry when the clouds come down low, but that’s just life in the hills. We usually have a bit of a gossip while we work on the sorting.
