Krishnappa Minerals

Our business, Krishnappa Minerals, is located in Krishnappa Nagar, right near the railway station. Being so close to the tracks means we hear every single train that passes through, and the ground vibrates a little bit when the heavy freight loads go by. It’s a convenient spot for us though, because transportation is everything in the mineral trade. The yard is usually full of piles of different materials, and there is always a layer of fine dust over everything, including the office furniture. We have a small shed where we keep the records and where people come to settle their accounts. It’s a family-style environment here, not a corporate one. We know the truck drivers by name, and they usually stop for a chat when they’re dropping off or picking up a load. Sometimes we have issues with the power, but we just keep a few torches handy and keep moving. The sun gets pretty intense in the afternoon, so we try to do the loading in the early morning hours. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to do our job and keep the business running. It’s a lot of weighing, recording, and moving things from one place to another. Life near the railway station is loud and dusty, but it’s where we belong. We’ve built this up over time, one truck at a time, and that’s how we like it.
