Down in Deshalpar, which is in the Mundra taluka of Kachchh, you’ll find our foundation. We are right in the heart of the village. If you’ve ever been to this part of Gujarat, you know it’s a bit different from the big cities like Ahmedabad. Life moves a little slower here, and we like it that way. Our office is a simple building that fits right in with the rest of the houses in Deshalpar. We don’t have big glass windows or shiny signs. It’s just a place where we gather to talk about what the village needs. Sometimes we spend the whole day just visiting people at their homes instead of sitting behind a desk. The dust from the Kutch ground gets everywhere, but that’s just part of living here. We don’t have a huge team, just a handful of locals who care about the neighborhood. We don’t go around making big promises or using fancy words to describe what we do. We just look at what’s in front of us and try to be helpful. The summers get very hot, so we usually start our work early in the morning before the sun gets too high. By the afternoon, you’ll likely find us sitting under the porch sharing some tea. It’s a quiet life, but there is always something to keep us busy in Mundra. We are just glad to be part of the community here.
