Kandla Timber Association

Our association is based in Timber Bhavan, which is on Plot Number 47 in Sector-8 of Gandhidham. We have been in this spot for a long time, right in the heart of where all the wood trade happens near the port. The building is a bit older now, but it is the main gathering point for the timber merchants in the area. Sector-8 is always full of stacks of wood and big trucks carrying logs from the docks. You can smell the sawdust in the air most days. Our office handles the affairs of the timber traders who work out of Kachchh. We have a post box number, P. B. No. 172, because of the amount of mail we get from different departments and members. It is a very practical environment. We have meetings here to discuss the challenges of the trade and how to keep things moving smoothly at the port. There are no polished floors or high-tech screens, just some solid wooden furniture and a lot of history on the walls. Most of the people who come by have been in the timber business for generations. We help coordinate between the different yards and make sure the community stays connected. It is a lot of administrative work, but it is important for the local economy. Gandhidham depends on this trade, and we are just here to support the people doing the hard work. We just keep the records and help where we can.
