Sanghi Industries Limited

This is the Sanghipuram site, located out in the Abdasa taluka of Kutch. It is a bit of a distance from the main cities, but this is where the core of Sanghi Industries happens. We have our own post office here with the pincode 370511. Living and working here is quite different from being in a city like Ahmedabad or Baroda. It is much more quiet, except for the sounds of the machinery and the trucks moving in and out. The landscape is mostly open land, which is typical for this part of Kutch. Many of us stay right here in the township. It is like a small community of its own. We deal with the production side of things mostly. Every day involves a lot of walking around the facility and making sure the operations are moving along. The dust is part of life here, you get used to it after a week. We have everything we need inside the campus since the nearest big town is a long drive away. It is a self-contained life. We see the same faces every day, which makes it feel more like a village than a factory. The weather gets very hot in the summer, so we usually start early to beat the heat. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. There are thousands of us living here now, and it’s become a real home for many workers who came from far away.
