Working in the Kachchh area means you get used to the dry air and the salt in the wind. We deal with imports and exports, mostly managing the flow of goods coming through the ports near here. Our office isn’t huge, but it works for what we need to do. Every morning we open up and check the logistics charts. The market outside gets loud really early, with trucks and bikes everywhere. It’s Gujarat, so things move fast but people still take time for a tea break. We handle a lot of different commodities. It’s mostly paperwork and making sure the containers are on schedule. Sometimes things get stuck at the customs or the port, and those are the stressful days. But that’s just how this business goes. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us who know the ropes. My desk is usually covered in folders and shipping manifests. Gandhidham is a hub for this kind of work, so we are in the right spot. Being on the main road helps with getting things delivered, though the traffic can be a nightmare at 5 PM.
