Ratan Knitted & Woven

Ratan Knitted & Woven is located at Shed No: 241-243 in Sector-3 of the Kandla Special Economic Zone. Being in the SEZ means things are a bit different than a regular street shop. There are lots of gates and security, and it’s a very industrial feeling. We work out of these sheds, and it’s mostly about the machines and the noise. It isn't a quiet place to work. There is always the hum of something running or the sound of trucks loading up outside. We spend our days making sure the knitting and weaving machines are doing what they should. Sometimes they break down, and we spend all afternoon covered in grease trying to fix them. It’s not glamorous at all. We have a small crew, and we all know each other pretty well by now. We eat lunch together and complain about the heat in the summer. The sheds get pretty warm since they’re big metal boxes, but we have fans going. We don't have a showroom or a place for people to just wander in. We are focused on the production side of things. It’s a lot of checking the quality and making sure the counts are right. We aren't here to give a sales pitch. We just have a job to do at Ratan Knitted & Woven, and we try to get it done right before the whistle blows.
