Hemal Travels

Our office is situated right near the bus station in-gate in Bhuj. It is a very active part of town because the buses are always pulling in and out throughout the day and night. Being in the Kutch region, specifically here in Bhuj, means we deal with a lot of heat during the summer months. Our space is right where the action is, so it is easy for travelers to spot us as soon as they arrive. We have a small room with the basic necessities for running a travel business. There is usually a bit of a breeze coming through the door, but it also brings in the sound of the bus engines and the shouting of the porters. We spend our time helping people book their onward journeys or helping locals figure out their vacation plans. It is not a quiet job, but we like being right in the middle of everything. Sometimes we have to handle several people at once who are all in a hurry to catch their next connection. We just keep our heads down and work through the list. We have been at this gate for a while, so we know most of the bus drivers and the staff at the station. It is a practical place to be if you are in the travel business, even if it gets a bit dusty and loud sometimes. We often have people sitting on the bench outside waiting for their departure.
