If you look behind Cargo Motors at Sector 10-C, you’ll see our yard at Plot No. 38. That’s where Ial Containers is based. It’s a big open space because, as you can imagine, containers take up a lot of room. We spend most of our time out in the sun, moving these big metal boxes around with the crane. The ground is mostly gravel and dirt, so it gets pretty dusty when the wind picks up. We deal with all sorts of containers, some new and some that have seen a lot of miles at sea. You can tell a lot about where a container has been by the dents and the faded paint on the sides. We do a bit of repair work too, welding up patches or fixing the door hinges so they actually close properly. It’s hard, physical work and your boots get worn out pretty fast. Sector 10-C is a good spot for us because it’s easy for the big trailers to turn around. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us out in the yard or in the small tin shed we use as an office. We keep a logbook of what’s in the yard, but mostly we just know by looking at them. It’s a straightforward business without any bells or whistles. We just handle the boxes and make sure they’re ready to go.
