Kailash Plywood Hardware is located at Tdx-S-3, right opposite the S.T. Stand in Adipur-Kachchh. If you've spent any time waiting for a bus at the stand, you’ve probably seen our sign. Being across from the transport hub means there is always dust and movement. We have sheets of plywood stacked up and all sorts of hardware bits in bins. It gets a bit crowded inside sometimes because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand for the people who come in. The shop floor is usually covered in a bit of sawdust or metal shavings, which is just how a hardware place looks. We don't try to keep it looking like a showroom. It’s a practical space for practical work. The sun can get really bright out here in Kachchh, so we try to keep the shop cool enough to work in. Most days are spent moving heavy boards or looking for specific screws for someone who isn't quite sure what size they need. We talk to the bus drivers and the commuters who walk past. It’s a steady rhythm of work. We aren't big on fancy talk or complicated systems. We just know where everything is kept on the shelves. People come to us because we are right there by the stand and easy to find. It’s been our daily routine for a long time now, just being part of the noise and bustle of Adipur. It’s a lot of lifting and counting, but it’s what we do.
