Gujarat Sidhee Cement Limited, Gujarat Veraval

Working in Veraval is a different experience because we are right where the action is. Our office is in the G.I.D.C. colony, specifically at Qtr. No. E-30 on Patan Road. It’s right across from Haji Peer, so everyone in town knows where that is. Because it’s the G.S.C.L. colony, most of the people living around us are also involved with the company in some way. It feels more like a community than just a place of work. The air carries that salt smell from the coast, mixed with the industrial scent of the cement operations. Gujarat Sidhee Cement Limited has a big presence here, and our little office handles a lot of the local coordination. It’s a simple setup with basic furniture and a lot of papers everywhere. We deal with the day-to-day needs of the staff and the logistics of the Veraval site. It’s not a place for suits and ties; we wear practical clothes because things can get messy. There is always a lot of movement outside with trucks and workers coming and going. We don’t spend much time worrying about the decor. As long as the phones work and the records are kept straight, we are happy. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps during a break just to catch a bit of a breeze. It’s a hardworking place, and we’ve been part of this Veraval landscape for a long time now.
