Our shop is over in Giriraj Society, at Block No. 46/1. We’ve been operating out of Junagadh Tank Menor area for a good while now. The space is filled with the sound of plastic molding machines and the smell of raw materials being heated up. It’s a bit of a tight fit in the block, especially when we have a big shipment of plastic pellets arrive. We spend our days watching the machines and making sure the molds are coming out right. It’s repetitive work, but you have to pay attention so things don’t get messed up. The floor is usually covered in little bits of plastic scrap that we sweep up at the end of the shift. Being in Giriraj Society means we have neighbors close by, so we try not to be too loud, though the machines have a hum of their own. We’re just a small group of people working hard to get the orders filled. Sometimes the heat in the workshop gets pretty intense, so we keep the fans going all day long. We don’t have a fancy showroom; if people want to see what we make, they just come into the work area. It’s a bit messy and crowded with boxes, but that’s just the reality of making things in a small space. We just focus on getting the daily production done and making sure the machines are kept in working order for the next morning. It’s a living, and it keeps us all busy enough.
