Akshar Ginning & Pressing Industry

Our plant is out in the Junagadh District, specifically in the Una area. If you’re looking for us, we’re located right near the Adventure Christian School. You can usually hear the kids playing during their recess while we are working with the cotton. Akshar Ginning & Pressing Industry is a pretty dusty place, which is just the nature of what we do. The air is always thick with a bit of lint, and we all wear scarves or masks to keep from breathing too much of it in. The machinery is loud and heavy, and when everything is running, you have to shout to be heard over the noise. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is dry and the sun is beating down on the corrugated metal roof. We have a big yard where the trucks pull in to drop off the raw cotton. Some of the walls have cracks and the gate squeaks every time it opens, but the facility does what it’s supposed to do. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a small room with a fan and some old chairs where we sit to do the paperwork. At the end of the day, we’re all covered in white fluff, but it’s a living. We’ve been operating in this spot for a long time and the locals are used to the hum of our engines. It’s a straightforward, busy place to be.
