Raj Tyre Retreads

Our workshop is right opposite Saurashtra Silicate, near the Sakkarbaug area in the Junagadh GIDC. It’s an industrial spot, so there’s always the sound of machinery and trucks passing by. At Raj Tyre Retreads, we spend our time working with rubber and old tyres. It’s messy work. Your hands stay black most of the day, and the smell of rubber is something you just get used to after a week. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It’s just the shop floor where the work happens. People bring in their worn-out tyres, and we see what we can do. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying on your feet. We have a small crew, mostly guys who have been doing this for years. We aren't much for talking; we just get on with the job. The GIDC can be a bit chaotic with all the different factories, but we like it here. It’s where the real work gets done. We don't have a website or anything fancy. If someone needs us, they usually just drive up to the gate. We keep the equipment running as best as we can and try to stay busy. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. We’ve been in Junagadh for a long time. There's always a stack of tyres waiting for us in the morning when we open up. We just pick up the tools and start.
