Pratik Medicines

Our shop, Pratik Medicines, is at Shop No 29 on the ground floor of Sahakar Bhavan. We are right opposite the bus stand, so the area is always full of people moving around. You can hear the buses pulling in and out all through the day. It gets quite noisy and there is always a bit of diesel smell in the air from the station across the street. Being on the ground floor is good because people don't have to climb any stairs to get to us. The shop has glass cabinets that we have to wipe down constantly because of all the dust from the road. We keep the most common items near the front so they are easy to grab when someone is in a rush to catch their next bus. The lighting inside is a bit bright and yellow, but it helps us see the small print on the packaging. We have a small desk where we handle all the transactions and it's usually piled high with receipts and order forms. It is a busy life being near a transport hub. We don't have much time for sitting around, especially in the evenings when the crowds are the biggest. We just focus on keeping the inventory stocked so we don't run out of the basics. It is a simple way to spend the day.
