We are located at Shop No. 7 in the Malvi Complex, which is right by Ambika Chock in Junagadh. It’s quite close to the Shri Swaminarayan Temple, so we get a lot of people passing by after they finish their prayers. Krishna Antique Gift is full of old-style things that we’ve collected over time. It smells a bit like old wood and brass polish in here because we are constantly cleaning the items. The shelves are heavy and made of dark wood, which fits the vibe of the antiques. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded because we hate throwing anything away, so there are piles of things in the corners that I still need to sort through. The Malvi Complex is an older building, so the walls have a few cracks, but it adds to the character of our shop. I usually open up early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. It’s nice to sit and watch the street wake up while I have my first cup of chai. We don't have a computer system or anything like that; I still write out the receipts by hand in a yellow notebook. It’s a slow-paced kind of place. Some people come in just to look around and talk about the history of the pieces, which is fine by me. It keeps the day interesting even when we don't sell much.
