Kapishwar Ice & Cold Storage

Our facility is at 704/705 in the Gidc area. If you work around here, you know it’s a lot of warehouses and factories. We run the ice and cold storage side of things. It’s pretty straightforward work, but it’s important to keep the temperature right. If the power goes out or a machine acts up, we have to deal with it right away, no matter what time it is. The units are big and it stays very cold inside, so we’re always wearing jackets even when it’s boiling hot outside in the sun. It’s a bit of a weird feeling, stepping out from the freezer into the Gidc heat. We’ve got a few trucks that come in and out daily. There isn't much to the office part of the building, just a desk and some chairs where we keep the logs. We don't really advertise much because the people who need cold storage usually find us through word of mouth. It’s a lot of manual labor, moving crates around and making sure everything is stacked properly so nothing gets crushed. We’ve been at this for a long time now. The machinery needs a lot of maintenance, so there’s always a bit of grease or tools lying around somewhere. It’s a noisy, busy place but we’ve got a good routine down. We just keep the cooling running and try to make sure everything stays frozen like it’s supposed to be throughout the day and night.
