H.J. Welfare Foundation

Our foundation is tucked away in Gadu, specifically at the Tata Motors site where Husain Jafar Lakha is. We are in the Maliya Taluka of Junagadh. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city, but that is where the work is. We focus on welfare for the people living and working around here. Being near the Tata Motors area means we see a lot of workers and drivers coming through every day. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It’s a functional space where we handle paperwork and talk to people who need a bit of a hand with something. Maybe it’s a medical issue or something to do with their family's needs. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the local area well. The village of Gadu is small, so everyone knows where we are. We don't spend money on advertising because people just show up when they need us. We deal with the heat and the dust like everyone else in this part of Gujarat. It is practical work, day in and day out. We help with whatever comes up, whether it's a small local problem or something bigger for a worker's family. We've been at this address for a while and we've become a part of the daily life around the Tata Motors compound. It’s just what we do to keep things moving for the folks in Maliya.
