Gir Holidays

Our shop is Number 171 in Somnath, Veraval. We are very close to the Somnath Temple, so we get a lot of pilgrims walking by our door every single day. It’s a very spiritual and busy place to be. Gir Holidays isn't a big travel agency with offices in every city. We are just here in Veraval, working hard. We focus on helping people who come to visit the temple or those who want to go see the Gir forest nearby. My family has lived in this area for many generations. We know all the local spots and shortcuts that tourists might miss. The shop is small and can get quite warm during the summer months, but we have a fan and keep plenty of water for anyone who stops by. We don't have any slick sales pitches or marketing tricks. We just tell you what the prices are and what the schedule looks like for the day. Sometimes the buses are running late or the weather is just too hot for comfortable travel, and we'll be honest with you about that. We spend a lot of time talking to drivers and making sure everything is ready for the next morning. It’s a lot of work, especially during the festival times when the whole town is packed with people. We don't use much technology, just a basic phone and some handwritten notes. It’s a modest business, but we like it.
