Our shop is on the ground floor of Ekata Appartment in the Madhuram area. We are right opposite the Madhuram bus stop, so there is almost always a crowd of people waiting outside. If folks are waiting for their bus, they often peer into our windows to see what we are working on. Having the State Bank of India ATM nearby is also handy for everyone in the building. It’s a busy little corner of Vanthli Road. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just us and our computers and printing gear. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls. There’s a constant hum from the machines that never really stops during the day. We get a lot of walk-in traffic because of the location. Someone might need a quick copy or a small design job while they are out doing their daily errands. We try to help everyone who comes through the door. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, but we have a small fan that does its best to keep us cool. We’ve been here long enough that the other local shopkeepers are all our friends now. We share the daily news and sometimes help each other out with small things. It’s not a high-stress corporate environment. We just do our work, talk to the neighbors, and close up when the sun goes down. It’s a decent way to live.
