Shri Ganesh Trading Company

Shri Ganesh Trading Company is located near the Marketing Yard. We are at Shop No 2 in the Bhuvneshvari Complex in Dolatpara. It’s a busy spot because of the yard nearby. There are always tractors and trucks moving around. Our shop is small but we make the most of the space. We have bags and crates stacked up high. Most of our day is spent talking to farmers and other traders. It’s a lot of haggling and checking the quality of the goods. The floor is mostly dusty from all the sacks. We have a small desk where we do the math on a calculator. It’s noisy and loud, but that’s just how it is in Dolatpara. We’ve been here for years, so we know everyone in the complex. We share a water cooler with the shop next door. In the afternoons, when it gets really hot, we slow down a bit. We don't have air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a little. It does the job. We don’t use any big computers for our work. It’s mostly just notebooks and hard work. We make sure the weights are right and the payments are settled. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. We stay open until the last truck leaves the yard. Then we go home, tired but glad the day is over. It’s a hard life but a good one.
