Omprakash Purshotamdas Exports Pvt. Ltd. is located in Jumerati Bazar, and we still use P. O. Box No. 81 for a lot of our mail. Jumerati Bazar is one of those old parts of the city where the streets are narrow and everything feels like it has been there for a hundred years. Our office and storage area are right in the thick of it. It is a very traditional place to do business. We handle export stuff, so there is a lot of paperwork and checking of containers even though we are based in such an old market area. The building we are in has seen better days, but it is sturdy and keeps the goods dry. We have been operating under this name for a long time, and the family roots here go deep. Most of the other shopkeepers around here are friends or people we have known for decades. The morning starts with opening the heavy shutters and clearing out the dust that settles overnight. It is a lot of coordination with trucks and shipping agents to make sure everything gets where it needs to go. We do not have a website that we update or anything like that; we just do our business through old-fashioned talk and making sure things get sent out on time. It is a busy, dusty, but honest way to make a living.
