Rihon Tea Producer Company Limited is out in Kotarifarm Garh, near Kaliapani in Jorhat. We are a producer company, which means we are a group of growers who teamed up. The area here is mostly farmland and tea gardens. Our office is a simple spot where we handle the logistics of moving tea from the fields to the buyers. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big reception desk. It’s just a place to get work done. Most of us are more comfortable out in the fields than sitting behind a desk anyway. We deal with all the usual headaches of farming, like bad weather, pests, and finding enough hands during the harvest. Kaliapani is a nice area, but it takes work to keep everything running smoothly. We focus on the daily tasks like weeding, fertilizing, and picking. There isn't much room for corporate talk in our day. We just need to know how many kilos we’ve got and where it’s going. It’s a group effort, and we all pitch in where we can. We’ve been working this land for a long time, and we plan to keep doing it the same way. We don't make big promises, we just show up every morning and see what the day brings. It’s a simple life, but it’s ours and we are used to the routine.
