Punjab Engineering Co. is situated right on Mariani Road in the Rajbari area. It’s a spot where people pass by all day long. We have been running things here for quite some time now. The workshop is full of old tools and some newer ones we picked up over the years. It’s not the cleanest place you’ll ever see, but it’s where we work. We do a lot of repairs and custom bits for the local folks. Usually, there is a pile of projects waiting by the door. We take them one by one. There is no rush, but we don't dawdle either. The tea stall nearby is where we spend our breaks. Everyone in Rajbari knows our name because we’ve been on this road forever. We don't do much advertising. People just find us by word of mouth or by seeing the sign when they drive past. The floor is concrete and stained with oil from years of different jobs. We have a couple of heavy machines that make a lot of racket. It’s a good sound to us because it means work is getting done. Sometimes the rain hits the metal roof so hard we can't hear each other talk. We just keep our heads down and finish the task. It’s simple, honest work that pays the bills. That’s all we really want out of it. We keep our tools sharp and our prices fair.
