Lavis

Our shop, Lavis, is over in Wad No. 7 in the Amullapaty area. We are in Sivasagar, not too far from the Mahakosh building. It’s a local neighborhood, and most people around here know where we are. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The building isn’t new, but it’s a good place for us to work. It’s just a couple of us here every day. We don’t have any corporate training or big manuals. We just learned how to do things by doing them. Every morning starts the same way. We open the shutters, sweep the front, and get the kettle going for tea. It’s a simple way of living. Sivasagar is a nice town, and we like being part of the community here. We don’t run big advertisements or try to sound like something we aren't. If people need what we have, they just drop by and we have a talk. It’s more personal that way. The office inside is a bit small and we have stuff piled up on the desks, but we know where everything is. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy and we just sit and watch it from the doorway. It’s a quiet business. We just aim to do a decent job for the folks who come to see us. It’s been working for us for years, so we just keep going. This is the way we prefer to run things.
