Jyoti Motors

Our shop is right across from the Rose Vally Tower here in Garali. It’s a big landmark, so people don’t usually have a hard time finding where we are located. The street stays quite crowded throughout the day with cars and rickshaws constantly moving past the front. Inside the shop at Jyoti Motors, things are a bit cluttered, but that’s just how we work. There’s a lot of motor parts on the shelves and sometimes on the floor when we're in the middle of a big job. I started working here a few years back and the neighborhood has changed some, but the shop stays mostly the same. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the books, though most of our time is spent out front on the pavement or leaning under a hood. The tower casts a long shadow over the road in the late afternoon, which is nice because it cools things down. It gets noisy with all the horns and people shouting, but it feels alive and active. We know most of the people who live around here in Garali. They stop by just to say hello even if their vehicle is running fine. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know our way around an engine. We drink a lot of chai from the vendor next door while we talk about what needs to be ordered for the next week. It's a simple life, really.
