John Traders

Our place is right at Plot No. 1 in Borpatra Gohain, just a short walk from Priya Hotal. Being here in Sibsagar means we see a lot of people passing through the district. John Traders is basically a hub where we handle all sorts of goods that come in and out of the village. It’s a bit dusty outside because of the road, but we keep the inside tidy enough. We’ve been running things here for a few years now, and it’s mostly just us handling the day-to-day stuff. My brother helps with the heavy lifting and I deal with the paperwork and the customers. It’s not a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a simple building where we store what we need to sell. Sometimes the rain in Assam makes things a bit tricky, especially when we have a big shipment arriving, but we manage to keep everything dry under the tarps. We know most of the neighbors and the people who run the shops nearby. Dealing with traders from other tehsils is part of the job, and it keeps us busy from morning until sunset. We don’t have fancy signs or a big marketing budget, just the name on the front and a phone that rings quite a bit. If you’re ever near Priya Hotal, you’ll see our gate. It’s a quiet life but the work is honest and it keeps us going. We just try to do right by the people who buy from us.
