Jain Motors is a small garage located in Garali. I’ve been working here for a long time, and almost everyone in the village knows my face by now. The shop is just a simple building where I spend my hours fixing cars and bikes. It’s not like those big, shiny service centers you see in the cities. I don’t have a fancy waiting room with a television or a coffee machine. Usually, my customers just stand around and chat with me while I’m under the hood of their vehicles. Garali is a quiet place, so I can usually hear a car coming from a long way off. I have my tools scattered on the workbench, and there is always a bit of oil on the floor. I like the hands-on nature of this work. Jain Motors isn't about big profits or trying to grow into a massive company. It’s just about keeping the local vehicles running so people can get to their jobs or take their kids to school. I keep all my records in a small drawer and I don't use any computers for my daily business. Sometimes I have a young lad from the village helping me out, and I try to teach him what I know about engines. The days can be quite long, especially when a difficult engine repair comes in, but I don't really mind the work. I enjoy the puzzle of figuring out what’s wrong with a motor. It’s a humble life here in Garali.
