Down here in Sibsagar, specifically in the Hatikhok area, you will find our office. We are tucked away in Bylane 1, and the place is known as the home of Asroful Haq. It is a local operation, and we try to keep things as simple as possible. Most of us grew up around here, so we have a good feel for what the community in this part of Assam needs. We started this foundation because we saw small things that needed doing. It isn't about some grand corporate goal or a polished mission statement. We just look at the problems right in front of us. Maybe a neighbor needs help with some complicated forms or a small local project needs someone to handle the organizing. Our workspace is pretty basic, just a practical room where we sit down and get to work. We drink a lot of tea and talk through the tasks for the day. Some days are very quiet, and then the next day everyone shows up at the same time. That is just how it goes in a small town. Being in Dhuliapar, we see a lot of local faces every day. We don't have a marketing budget or anyone to write fancy ads for us. We just put in the hours and try to be helpful. It is hard work keeping everything running, but we like being part of the community here. If you are near the post office, you might see us.
