Running Vinod Electricals on Chopasni Road means dealing with a lot of dust and a lot of noise from the vehicles passing by. It is a busy stretch of road and we are right in the middle of it. Inside the shop, the shelves are stacked high with boxes of all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a person is asking for, but we usually know which pile it’s hidden in. The lighting inside is a bit bright because we have so many different bulbs to show people, which makes the space feel warmer than it actually is. We spend a lot of our time standing at the counter talking to regulars who have been coming here for years. Chopasni Road has changed a lot since we first started, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We have a small fan that rattles in the summer, and we keep a stash of pens that always seem to go missing when we need to write an invoice. There’s no big corporate vibe here, just us and the inventory. Some days are slow and we just watch the traffic, while other days everyone seems to need something at the exact same time. We don’t mind either way. It’s just the rhythm of the shop. We keep things simple and try to make sure we have the basics ready.
