Usha Exim

Usha Exim is over at B-26 in Narsingh Vihar, Lal Sagar. It is a pretty quiet neighborhood compared to the city center. We have been here for several years, running our export business from this building. We mainly deal with textiles and some small handicrafts. The front room is usually full of fabric samples draped over chairs and tables. It is a bit messy, but that is how we see what is what. We are not a big firm with a lot of departments. It is mostly just a few of us handling the orders, checking the quality, and making sure the packing is done right. We spend a lot of time communicating with weavers and local artisans. Sometimes their schedules do not match ours, so we have to do a lot of chasing up. It is a lot of legwork and phone calls. We do not have a slick office with glass walls. Our walls are painted a simple off-white and we have some old wooden desks. We like being in Lal Sagar because it is a calm place to focus on the details. We do not spend money on fancy advertisements. Most people find us through word of mouth or long-standing connections. We just try to be honest about what we can provide and when it will be ready. It is a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us.
