Tarabai Desai Eye Hospital

Tarabai Desai Eye Hospital is located at E 22 in Sastri Nagar. We’re tucked away in the neighborhood, near the main part of Sastri Nagar, so it’s easy for the locals to walk over. The building has been here for a long time, and you can tell by the way the stairs are a bit smooth from use. It’s a dedicated space for eye care, but it’s run like a family business more than anything else. We have the vision testing charts on the walls and those big heavy machines for checking eyes. The waiting room has some old plastic chairs that aren't the most stylish, but they do the job. We see a lot of elderly people from around the area who’ve been coming to us for their glasses or checkups since they were much younger. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except when the school nearby lets out and the kids are running past. We don't have a big corporate board or anything. It's just a few of us making sure the appointments are kept and the files don't get lost. The light in the exam room is very bright, which is necessary, but the rest of the clinic has a softer feel. We keep a pot of tea going in the back room for the staff. It’s a very normal, local hospital where we just do our daily work without any ego.
