Shree Ram Chemical & Mineral Industries

We are tucked away at 12/52 in the Chopasni Housing Board area. It’s a bit unusual for a business like ours to be right in the middle of a housing board, but we’ve been here a long time. The space is mostly filled with bags of minerals and different chemical containers. You can usually tell when we’re busy because there will be a couple of tempos parked awkwardly on the side of the road. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes. I spend a lot of my time weighing things out or checking the quality of the raw stones that come in. The white dust from the minerals gets on everything, including my shoes and the old wooden desk. We don't have a big staff, just a few guys who know the routine well. We don't use much technology here, just an old scale and a calculator that has seen better days. It is quiet work for the most part, until a shipment arrives. Then we all have to jump in and move the heavy bags. We take a long break in the middle of the day when the sun is at its peak. The neighborhood knows us well, and we try not to make too much of a mess. It’s just a basic operation, focused on the materials and getting them to where they need to go.
