Shivranjani Boutique

The sound of sewing machines is the first thing you hear when you walk into Shivranjani Boutique. We are located on 5th Marg V Raog, right near the power house in the Paudda area of Jodhpur. It’s a lively spot to work. We spend our days surrounded by piles of silk, cotton, and all kinds of colorful threads. The heat in Jodhpur can be pretty tough, so we keep the fans going at full speed while we work on the latest orders. People come to us when they have a wedding or a festival coming up and they need something that fits just right. We do a lot of measuring and marking with chalk, trying to get the lines straight even when we’re in a hurry. The floor is usually covered in small snippets of fabric and stray pins, so you have to be careful where you walk. We aren't a big fancy fashion house; we are just a local boutique where we know our customers by name and remember what colors they liked last year. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is close, working under the bright lights until the street outside goes quiet. Near the power house, you can always hear the low hum of electricity, which just blends in with the noise of our needles moving. It’s a busy life, but we enjoy seeing the finished clothes leave the shop.
