Our place is just called Jain, and we are located right in the heart of Shastri Nagar. It is a simple setup in a residential neighborhood, so it feels more like a home than a business sometimes. We have been here for quite a while now. The building is a bit tucked away, so if you aren't looking for the sign, you might walk right past us. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves and a small counter where we talk to people. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who have lived in Shastri Nagar our whole lives. We handle whatever needs doing that day. Sometimes it’s sorting through inventory and other times it’s just sweeping the front step. The street outside is usually quiet except for the vegetable vendors and the local kids playing. We don't do any big advertisements or have a social media page. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who stops by. It’s a slow pace of life, which suits us just fine. We know most of our customers by their first names because they live just down the road. Sometimes we close early if the weather is bad or if there is a local festival going on. It’s not a complicated business. We just try to provide what people need without making a big fuss about it. That’s how we’ve always done things here.
