Sayog Chikitsalya

We are tucked away in Gali No. 8, Chandana Bakar, over in the Kamla Nehru Nagar part of Jodhpur. It’s in Jai Shankar Colony, which is a fairly residential area. This isn't a massive medical center; it's a chikitsalya, a place where people come for routine care. The street is narrow, so people usually walk or bring a bike. We’ve been part of this community for years. People come in with all sorts of aches and pains. We don't have a receptionist in a suit. It’s usually just one of us sitting at the desk with a register. The rooms have a bit of a homey feel, maybe because we’ve been here so long the building has settled. We talk to our patients like neighbors because, mostly, they are. Jodhpur can get very hot, so we try to keep the place as cool as possible for those waiting. We don't have any fancy brochures. People just tell each other about us. It’s a slow and steady kind of place. We don't rush through the appointments. We listen to what's wrong and do our best to help out. It's simple work but it's important to the folks living in Jai Shankar Colony. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day. It's a quiet existence here but we wouldn't have it any other way. We just keep the register going.
