Samvad

Being located near Sojati Gate means we are right at the heart of the action. This area is famous for its history, but for us at Samvad, it’s just where we work every day. The heat in the summer is something else, so we keep the shop as cool as we can manage. It’s a place for phones and talking to people about what they need. We don't have a giant team, just a few of us who know each other well. We see a lot of tourists passing by because of the gate, but our main people are the ones who live and work right here in the market. They come in for a new SIM card or to ask why their apps aren't working right. The shelves are filled with boxes and different accessories that we try to keep organized, though it gets messy by the end of a long Tuesday. We drink a lot of tea while we sit behind the counter. The sounds of the traffic and the vendors outside are just part of the day's music. We don’t go in for big speeches or fancy uniforms. We just wear our regular shirts and try to help whoever walks through the door. It’s a small shop life, and we’re used to the crowded streets and the dusty wind that blows through the gate area.
