About Banjara Marble Articles – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Jodhpur
The Riico Industrial Area in Sarupganj is always a bit noisy with all the cutting machines running. We are located at Plot No. G-3/4, and that's where all the marble work happens. There is a lot of white dust everywhere, which is just part of the job when you're working with stone. We spend our time taking these big slabs or blocks and turning them into smaller items. Sometimes it's bowls, or maybe small pillars, or just whatever someone asks for. It’s heavy work. You have to be careful with the marble because even though it's stone, it can crack if you handle it wrong. We use a lot of water for the saws to keep the heat down. Most of us here have been doing this for years, so our hands are used to the rough feel of the grit. We don't have a big showroom or fancy lights. It’s just a workshop with tools scattered around and pieces of stone waiting to be finished. Sirohi district has a lot of this kind of work, so we are just one of many, but we stay busy enough. The trucks come in to load up the finished articles and take them out to the main road. It is simple work, really. We just show up, do the cutting and polishing, and go home when the sun goes down. It gets quiet at night, but during the day, it's all about the sound of the stone.
