Iit Jodhpur

I have been working at this place on Old Residency Road in Ratanada for quite some years. This is the older part of the campus where a lot of the initial work happened. It feels very different from the new buildings outside the main city. Here, you are right in the middle of the residential area. There are old trees and the buildings have that solid, lived-in feel to them. My job involves handling the day-to-day stuff in the office and making sure people find the right rooms. It is always busy with students running around and professors heading to their classes. In the summer, it gets incredibly hot, but the thick walls keep the inside somewhat cool. We have a small canteen area where we get our morning tea and talk about what needs to be fixed. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a light goes out, and we have to call the maintenance guys. It is a lot of routine work, filing papers and answering the phone. Even though it is a big institution, this specific spot in Ratanada feels like a small community. We see the same guards and delivery people every day. It is just a place where work gets done and students learn their subjects. We try to keep things running smooth even when it gets hectic during exam times.
