R. D. Marble & Stones

We spend most of our days here at R. D. Marble & Stones, right in the middle of Stone Park. If you know the Riico Industrial Area in Mandore, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks moving in and out off NH-65. Our gates are at G-67/68, and it’s usually quite a noisy spot because of the heavy machinery. Most of the time, we’re just busy checking the slabs that come in or making sure things are stacked properly so they don’t crack. It’s dusty work, honestly. The sun beats down on the yard pretty hard in the afternoons, but that’s just how it is working with stone. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Some days it’s just about getting the loading done before the drivers want to head out on the highway. We don’t have a fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we keep the inventory and handle the paperwork on a small desk. Sometimes the power goes out in the industrial area, so we just sit outside and wait it out. People stop by because they saw the sign from the road while driving toward Mandore. We just show them what’s in the yard and tell them the price. It’s a straightforward life here among the rocks and the grit of the industrial area. We like the routine and the solid feel of the marble slabs.
