Om Prabhu Store

Jodhpur is a very hot place, especially in the summer months. My shop, Om Prabhu Store, is located in Jhulelal Market, which is near the 1st Puliya on Chopasni Road. It is a busy area because the college road is right there. I get a lot of students coming in to buy snacks or pens when they are heading to their classes. The market is always crowded with people shouting and bikes honking their horns. My shop is tucked away in a corner of the building. I sell groceries and general items that families need. I keep a lot of cold drinks in the fridge because that is what everyone wants when the temperature hits forty degrees. The shop is not very big, so I have to use every inch of space. I have shelves going all the way up to the ceiling. I use a long wooden stick with a hook on the end to reach the items at the top. I have been in this market for a long time and I know the other shopkeepers well. We often share tea in the mornings before the big rush starts. I don't have a fancy display, just the items stacked where people can see them. I try to stay open as late as possible because that is when the market really comes alive. It is a noisy, dusty, but good place to be every day.
