West India Textile Mills is located at E-8 in the Basni Phase II area of Jodhpur. Like many others in this industrial patch, we are all about textiles. The mill has been around for some time, and the building shows its age a little, but it is sturdy. Inside, it is a mix of old machines and some newer ones we brought in recently. The sound of the machines is constant from morning until evening. We have a fair number of workers coming in shifts. It is a busy environment. We handle everything from the raw yarn to the finished cloth. There is always a layer of lint on the windows, no matter how much we clean. Jodhpur is known for its heat, and the mill gets quite warm, so we have big exhaust fans running all the time. Our office is just a small room near the main gate. We keep the books there and talk to the suppliers. We do not do anything fancy for visitors. If you come by, you will see the work as it is, no filters. We just try to keep the production steady. It is a lot of coordination between the different sections of the mill. We have been at E-8 for years and the locals know us well. It is just regular work for us, day in and day out. We hope the monsoon brings some cooler air soon.
