If you are driving on the Main Jodhpur Highway near Pipar City, you will see us. We are right by the Reliance Petrol Pump in Datiwara. Mata Shri Enterprises is a bit of a landmark for people traveling that way because we’ve been sitting here by the highway for years. It’s a dusty place because of all the trucks blowing past, but we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze there is. We sell a bit of everything that people in Datiwara or those passing through might need. It’s not a fancy store with bright lights; it’s more of a practical place where you can get what you need and get back on your way. The petrol pump next door brings in a lot of folks who are just stopping for fuel and decide they need some supplies too. We spend a lot of time sitting on the porch watching the traffic go by when it’s quiet. When it’s busy, it’s usually several people at once asking for different things. The highway life is interesting because you meet people from all over, not just from Pipar City. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything. We just make sure we have stock on the shelves and that the lights are on. Sometimes the desert heat is really something, so we have a water cooler for anyone who needs a drink. It’s just a simple highway business, doing what we can every day.
