Laxmi Kirana & General Store

Our shop is in the Laxmi Tower building on Loco Road in the Ratanada area of Jodhpur. We are right near Bhasker Circle which is a well-known spot around here. The Khadi Bhandaar is also close by. Jodhpur is famous for being hot so we spend a lot of time making sure the drinks in the cooler are cold for the people walking past. We sell mostly kirana items like flour and oil and pulses. We also have some general things like soap and shampoo. It is a straightforward business. We have been in this location for quite some time. The area around Loco Road can get pretty busy with vehicles but our shop is a bit set back in the tower. We have regular customers who live in the apartments nearby. They usually come in with a list of things they need for the week. We weigh the loose items on a scale and pack them into bags. It is a routine that we have followed for years. Sometimes we have a chat with the people who come in about the weather or the local news. It makes the day go by faster. We don't have any big marketing plans or a website. People just see our sign when they are at Bhasker Circle and they stop in. It is a small place but it is ours and we keep it running every day except for holidays.
