Larsen & Toubro Limited, Ecc Division

We have our ECC Division office situated at 163, Ajit Colony in the Ratanada area of Jodhpur. Being in Rajasthan, we have to deal with the heat and the dust, so our office is mostly a place to escape the sun and get the planning done. It is a basic setup with some desks and a few computers, nothing that looks like a corporate headquarters. We focus on managing the construction projects in and around Jodhpur from this spot. It is a lot of logistical work, like making sure the water and materials are available at the sites when they are needed. We spend a lot of time on the phone with vendors and site supervisors. There is no marketing language here, just plain talk about what needs to be done next. We do not have a big sign outside, so you have to look for the number 163 to find us. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but we stay busy with the paperwork and the site visits. It is important for us to stay organized because the conditions out here can be tough. We are just regular people doing a job that involves a lot of grit and patience. We do not make big promises, we just show up and do the work that is assigned to us. It is a practical and honest way to make a living in this part of the country. We just keep moving forward.
