Bharat Furniture

Bharat Furniture is located in Kabir Nagar. We are right near the Bakra Mandi Chowk, so there is always plenty of activity and animal sounds nearby. Our workshop and shop floor have that constant smell of cut wood and varnish hanging in the air. It’s a dusty place, to be honest. No matter how much we sweep, there is always a layer of sawdust on the workbenches by the end of the day. We have various pieces of furniture sitting around in different stages of being finished. Some are just frames and others are ready to go out. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. It’s just a practical space where we build and sell things. The guys in the back are usually busy with saws and hammers from early in the morning. We take our tea breaks together sitting on whatever stools happen to be finished. It is a noisy environment but we like the work. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of wood and have to wait for the truck to arrive, which slows things down. We don't promise anything crazy, we just do the work we know how to do. The neighborhood knows us as the place near the chowk where you can hear the machines running. We’ve been here long enough that we feel like part of the street itself. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do to get by.
